“Modern Tragedies and the Vanity of an Optical Medium”, is a night of reflection on experimental video. Organized by s+s project in collaboration with Christopher Sonny Martinez and Spacy, this body of work analyzes the vibrant experimental production of artists in Latin America. Incorporating AI, photography and music, this exhibition transforms ritual and the body into a personal visual language of Transsexual horror and fantasy. This selection of videos reject traditional narratives of what is expected of “latinidad “ in the global north and instead makes a call to fantastical digital worlds that do not yet exist. Here, these aesthetics are the vehicle that transports us through a personal visual knowledge of its own existence to bring us closer to a universal identity and a common place fundamental to the human experience.
